The cost of a regular session is $220. Since June 2024, there is no sales tax on psychotherapy services. I accept payment by interac e transfer.
My services are covered by most insurance plans. To confirm, reach out to your insurance provider to ensure that “Registered Psychotherapists” are covered. In addition, psychotherapy is generally tax deductible. Check with your accountant. I provide receipts which can be submitted to insurance for reimbursement and/or included in your annual tax filing. In addition, there may be other programs to assist with therapy fees, including: the bursary for students with disabilities (BSWD), student healthcare plans, and amployment assistance programs (EAP).
I take your privacy and confidentiality very seriously. In addition to meeting the standards of practise set out by the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), I have added additional safeguards. These are outlined in my terms of service and will be reviewed in detail with you prior to commencing therapy.
All sessions are currently being provided remotely (either by telephone or through my encrypted clinical video conferencing platform). The video platform that I use is equipped with a chat / text function, and can easily be adapted to offer: audio-only based communication, text and video-based-only communication, or video, audio, and text-based communication. I am open to exploring other communications mediums and developing other communications strategies throughout our work together.
It depends on your circumstances, needs and goals, and your therapy journey. While my practice tends to focus on working with people in the medium term and long term, you should expect to see results from the beginning and throughout our work together.
